THE MOTIVATION
Focused on community development, advancing equity, cultural empowerment, and youth leadership in New Orleans. We have piloted numerous culturally rooted programs and through our fellowships, and events we strive to bring the community together, creating more opportunity for collective impact. We offer support to other NPO’s via grant writing, fundraising opportunities, and cultural events. Helping other local organizations further their goals fulfills our core mission.
We are two birds with One Stone. We believe in actively pursuing food equity, and nurturing our core NOLA culture. Our goal is to strengthen the connection between people to build healthy communities. Supporting chefs, growers, activists, artists, and culture bearers creates culturally informed, locally-led community development. Together we can enhance economies, strengthen our city’s resilience, and progress generations brimming with cultural knowledge.
We have participated in numerous culturally rooted and equity-based programs. These experiences are the driving force behind our work, fellowships, and events. One Stone creates the space to bring our community together. The OSCR Garden is our biggest fundraising project to-date, and we are moving forward with great confidence knowing we were able to secure the land and equipment in 2022.

OSCR COMMUNITY GARDEN
FEEDING THE SOUL
Through our experience with the Feed Algiers Project, we were able to interact intimately with our neighbors throughout Algiers. The urgent need for access to healthy food options for the elderly, economically disadvantaged, unwell, & houseless neighbors became all too clear. Since then, we have been developing a plan to fund locally grown produce that can be supplied directly to local churches hosting soup kitchens and directly to neighbors in need.
In 2022 we were able to acquire a corner lot in Algiers & a working refrigeration van to transport produce & food safely. We have been in talks with a contractor from Algiers to consult & execute the necessary plans to affordably bring our neighborhood garden to life.
Our goal is to fully fund the garden & use neighborhood volunteers so that we can provide 100% of our produce free to our Algiers family in need. In line with that goal, our future plans are to build a structure on part of our property to host fundraising events & provide housing for in-residence chefs, artists, musicians, & youth leaders. We will continue to partner with other local nonprofits and allow them to host fundraising events in our garden, or fiscally sponsor their neighborhood initiatives. New Orleans has a rich cultural fabric that is woven through food, music, art, dance, family, and stories. The OSCR Community Garden will be a place for all of these to flourish.
OSCR believes that food and health are human rights, and we must begin by caring for those closest to us before we can attempt to change the world.

WHAT WE'RE INVOLVED WITH NOW
DISASTER RELIEF
Disaster relief & rapid response catering. In connection to our contract work One Stone is striving to build a crew that can respond within 24 hours to disasters cross the US. We have acquired over $30K of equipment in addition to a refrigeration van as we continue to build out and fund raise for this project. It is our hope to serve residents in need with free food and debris removal for up to 2-weeks after a natural disaster.
PRIVATE CHEF DINNERS
Private chef dinners. Host a party and support a good cause. Our crew has a chefs from all over the country, three from James Beard winning kitchens, and over eight of whom have been recognized by or worked in the James Beard kitchen. Experience in cuisines from all over the world, our chefs are professional butchers, growers, restaurateurs, and adventure seekers. Contact us to host a dinner people will talk about for years to come.

It has always been my experience that a successful project in New Orleans has food, art, and music at its core. Culturally, these are our tools, the assets with which we can communicate with the world. One Stone collaborates with artists, musicians, and chefs to create one-of-a-kind events that inspire the soul.
Our Event and Catering business exists to both bolster our community efforts financially and expand our coalition of equity throughout the city.
